After traveling the world, and living in the NYC metro area for 20 years, I unexpectedly
ended up moving to the next county up from where I grew up in New York.
Living in Sullivan county has been one more learning experience, and I've had a year to
soak it in, learn a couple tricks, and finally BREATHE fully again, like I did when I was a kid.

And out of my adoration for this struggling, but beautiful place,
filled with all kinds of good food, good people, good water, good land
I am compiling a list of my favorites - The Best of Sullivan County NY!

Floyd and Bobo's Bakery/Cafe on Main Street in Liberty, New York has
the best vibe and food (and wifi).

Apple Pond Farm and Rewable Energy Center in Calicoon has great
fresh lamb, free range chicken, and is an excellent resource for anyone interested inlearning about today's renewable energies.

Dirie Farm on Shandalee Road in Livingston Manor, New York (hamlet of Shandalee) has raw milk for sale, in addition to free range eggs.
They are open to the public every Wednesday and Saturday.
Route 52 to Shandalee Road, about 4 miles up on the right.

Everlasting Spring, a nursery on Route 52 in White Sulpher Springs
has fabulous products at a reasonable price, and endless amounts of
helpful advice.

In the late fall, Barry Klein in White Sulpher Springs sells absolutely delicious and ultimately healthy grass fed, free range beef in bulk.

The Sullivan County Extention Office in Ferndale
is the most important resource for anyone looking to get into
local gardening, beekeeping, or home food production.
